What is a One Pot Processor?

One pot technology is not as well known as high shear granulating. Simply put, a one pot system is a high shear granulator with a drying system attached to it. DIOSNA specializes in both Vacuum/Gas Stripping and Microwave drying. Vacuum gas stripping is the preferred method of processing as it offers considerably more control and ease of use then microwave technology.

 

 



DIOSNA's vacuum/gas stripping technology works by heating the product from a jacketed bowl and gently injecting dry gas under the product bed. The mixture of heat, gentle agitation, gas stripping, and vacuum dries many times faster than a traditional tray oven and with total containment.

As the granulation is both made and dried in the machine, one pot technology is ideal for both potent and very expensive compounds.

One major advantage of the DIOSNA machine is the very unique bowl and mixing tool design. One recurring problem in one pot machines is caking (also known as burn-on). Caking is the result of product sticking to the bowl wall when the jacket is heated during drying. In some cases, depending upon the product, caking can be quite drastic. Besides wasting product, caking drastically increases the drying time of the batch as the caking acts as insulation and impedes the proper transfer of heat from the jacket to the product. The DIOSNA machine has a unique feature allowing it to be cake-proof, making it the most efficient and fast drying design available. (Please call for details).
