What is Fluid Bed Processing?

Simplified, a Fluid Bed consists of three main parts:
1 Processing chamber (air inlet, product bowl, expansion chamber, filters and outlet)
2. Air handling system (fan, air piping, conditioning unit, filters)
3. Control system (PLC, control station and etc.).

The typical processing functions of a fluid bed are drying, cooling, agglomeration, granulation, and coating of particulate materials. Fluid bed drying is suited for powders, granules, agglomerates, and pellets with an average particle size normally between 50 and 5,000 microns.

DIOSNA Fluid Bed Processors are specifically designed for the pharmaceutical industry where cGMP and repeatable production tolerances are paramount. Like the DIOSNA granulator line, the fluid beds are world class in their processing technique, engineering and finishing.

To aid our clients in choosing a particular processing machine, we have two laboratories, one located in the USA and the other in Germany. We have a One Pot Processors, Fluid Bed Processors, High Shear Granulators, Mills (Comil) and various other equipment. If you have an interest in testing with us, please give us a call.

The DIOSNA Fluid Bed Range spans all capacities to allow our clients to scale up from the laboratory desktop to large scale production.
